It's no secret that I am a very big fan of EQSL, I believe it is the future of exchanging QSL cards withfellow radio amateurs.

If you've got a website like I have then it's a nice idea to actually show some of the cards you have received from people around the world. The problem you have got doing this is actually downloading the cards from your EQSL account so you can upload them to your website. You may be able to download them one by one but that is very time-consuming, especially if you want to put a lot on the website. Well, worry not because I came across a very handy piece of software today that enables you to download all of your EQSL in one go. Ironically this piece of software comes from the same place that you get Ham Radio Deluxe Utilities from. You may well say that you can download all your cards using Ham Radio Deluxe utilities, you're actually not wrong, the only problem is, Ham Radio Deluxe utilities is normally connected to just one EQSL account which is fine if you only need one account, but if like me you sometimes use special calls then obviously you will need to create another EQSL design for that call.

So back to the software, it is simplicity itself, download the zip file which I have provided for you, unzip it and then install the software, nothing more to it. Then all you do is enter the call sign/username and password for your EQSL account and then download the cards onto your computer. What's great about the software is each time you open it, you can enter in a different account and create a new directory for the cards to be downloaded into.

I have removed the download link because it seems the application doesn't work anymore. I've just tried to install it but I couldn't get it to work so does my point offering up for operators because it is just very frustrating when you go to all that trouble to installer and then can't. Obviously the developer hasn't bothered to provide us with a bit of software that does work which is a great shame because EQsl is definitely the future

Unfortunately I think you are right. The updated download dated May 2013 doesn't appear to work properly. I cannot seem to get it

I was browsing the QRZ forum today and just happened to come across a thread which stated that Ham Radio Deluxe has been bought out by three US radio amateurs. By all accounts they are now going to start working on fixing lots of the bugs that are present and also upgrading the software. This is great news as Ham radio Deluxe is an absolutely fantastic piece of software that deserves the attention that it seems to be getting now.

From what I can gather the forum is staying as it is with all existing posts being left untouched, however it has moved to a new URL which can be found below. I believe that the new developers are now working on HRD V5.1 which is due for release very soon, so it says on the forum

Most of the modern day amateur radio equipment enables you to control it via the computer. I can control both of my ICOM radios using ham radio deluxe. There is also a built in rotator control within HRD that enables you to control your rotator. I used it for a while but I found it rather temperamental and it often crashed and stopped working. However, a few months ago Codrut, YO3DMU contacted me with a very kind offer, basically he gave me a free license to use his PSTrotatorAz rotator control software. Actually, it was two or three months before I even looked at it, it was only after getting so frustrated with HRD rotator control, I then decided to take a look and see what it was all about.

I don't think I have been using PSTRotator control for more than 5 min before I knew I would never look back. The installation process was quick and painless and only took a couple of minutes. Setting the software up was a piece of cake, if you're familiar with HRD or any other log program software then you shouldn't really have a problem with this software. Even if you haven't used any software before it really shouldn't pose a problem. All you need to know is your locator information, the software uses this to control your rotator and make sure that it points in the correct position.

PSTRotator Control

I have included an image of what the software looks like when it's open on your desktop. As you can see it's fairly simplistic and very straightforward. I like the fact that you just click on a position on the azimuth and your beam will then be repositioned, you can stop it at any time. You can also type in a prefix other country and the software will give you a beam heading and enable you to relocate your beam with just a click of a button.

This is a really great piece of software that for just €15 is well worth the money. There isn't an actual support forum, but there is a Yahoo group that will give you any help that you require. Codrut himself is also a very active member of the Yahoo group and will offer one-to-one support if and when required.

Here is the direct link to the PSTrotator website where you can purchase the software
