As you are probably aware UK amateurs are allowed to use a special call during the 2012 London Olympics.  My callsign is GO0VQY.  There is a flagship station operating from Greenwich London, their callsign is 2O12L (2 Oscar 12 London)

They plan to make at least 60,000 contacts during the seven weeks of operation during the Olympics and Paralympic games.

The station is open to the public from 10 AM till 4 PM every day.  Visitors will be allowed to sit down at the radio and make contact with amateur radio operators around the world.  I would imagine visitors will be limited to exchanging callsigns and making a quick greeting.

There is an exhibition about radio communications and electronics which visitors can view.  The organisers are also offering bite-size talks giving an overview of radio and its importance to the modern world.

They are operating on all frequencies and have a variety of different antennas including beam antennas and verticals.

Local residents, games visitors and radio hams from anywhere around the world you are in London during the Olympic Games will be welcomed if they visit 2O12L.

The station is located on bus routes from Greenwich and is very close to New Eltham Station which has a frequent service to London Bridge and Charing Cross rail stations.  The station is about 3 miles from Greenwich Park which is the location of the equestrian events.
