10 m is looking up, I switched my small 10 m Radio One this morning and 5B4AIX, Noz down in Cyprus was giving me an absolutely whopping great signal, he was 59+20 on my Sirio Gain Master vertical and my President Lincoln 10 m radio, I had a quick word with him and then everything seemed to drop out down that way.

It was great to hear 10 m opening up to North and South America today. I must admit that I didn't really get on the band properly until late afternoon which is when most of the US station started fading. However, Paul, M0PCZ seem to be enjoying himself, I heard him talking to several stations over in the US using just 100 Watts and his Sirio 827 vertical, another great vertical which is well worth considering if you haven't got room for a beam or wire and really like 10 m.

Propagation then altered and a lot of stations from South America started coming up very strong into the UK. I work several stations from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, some of them well over the 59. There was a bit of a surprise when 6Y1X shouted in from Montego Bay in Jamaica, another very good signal, 59, but then again, he was using a SteppIR. Oh, it was 28°C in Jamaica today, how I long and look forward to summertime, I need sunshine, badly.

I'll leave you with a very apt song
