Well finally I got my amplifier back and it's all hooked up again. Strangely it seems to be working better than ever did before which makes me think it had a fault from the very start.

For the last few days the bands have been pretty flat and I've not heard an awful lot of distant stations, quite a few Europeans and Russians so I suppose we still somebody to talk to. Yesterday I did manage to work S9DX, J79UN and HP1XX which was good.

Now I'm not one to moan :-), however I do get a little bit fed up with some of the stations who are working a split frequency, especially on the smaller bands like 17 m. What they have got to realise is it's all very well taking up several kilohertz of the band for their operation, but other people are also using the frequency. Yesterday I was enjoying myself and I had been operating for about half an hour when I started getting people coming onto the frequency literally ordering me to move because there was a DX station working a split and I happened to be working right next to where this operation was going on. Now I know for sure that they weren't there when I started. Now I don't mind moving if it helps other people enjoy themselves, I don't like to be just one person who is causing interference. Having said this, I little politeness goes a long way and some of these guys were quite rude which didn't go down well. Anyway, after a while and Italian chap came on and was very polite which is why I then decided to move. DX station or not, we all have equal rights on the airwaves
